Explore the wonders of the rural parts of Laos by hopping on the iconic three-wheeler tuk-tuk that will take you to the adjacent villages along the outskirts of Luang Prabang. Revel in the stunning landscapes as you commence your trek upon the beaten roads and behold the sights of the rising limestone cliffs. Get your shoes dirty whilst walking along the dirt path and stumble upon a quaint village called Ngaluang village. The Ngaluang village is the home of three ethnic people of Laos that coexist peacefully with another. Catch the sights of the hardworking villagers engaging in their important tasks for the day within their farms and the children running along the narrow streets. The scenic village is surrounded by stunning countryside landscape with towering mountains blanketed by mists.
You will have an opportunity to gain some insight on the ethnic groups that live in the Ngaluang village, which includes the Khmu, Hmong and Lao people. Learn about the culture and customs of the Khmu, Hmong and Lao people residing in the village from your friendly guide. A large majority of the people residing in the village are farmers that tend to their lands or fishermen that catch their fish at a river nearby. Venture into the village to discover the school for the village children that is made completely out of the mud. After an exciting exploration of the Ngaluang village, you will visit a homestay where you will enjoy a delicious lunch and taste the flavours of Laos that it will be served in a picnic-style way.
Take the roads again when you depart from the Ngaluang village before heading to a narrower trail that is known as the tractor trail. Stroll in the midst of the gorgeous forest that rises above the trail. Behold the sights of the farmland that stretches across the land. Trudge up along parts of the trail that are slightly elevated and gaze at the striking view of the rice paddy fields. Make a stop at a local fish pond and catch the sight of the fishes roaming the waters. After a tiring trek, consume some light snacks to replenish your energy before heading back from whence you came from and return to the city.
