Ha Long Bay is not the only distinguishing feature of the rich and diverse town of Ha Long. Yes, this picturesque town is home to one of the World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay but that is not the only thing you will get to enjoy while you are here. You will also get to try out the fresh seafood found around Ha Long Bay, all hauled in fresh and delicious just for you, see the view from the peak of Bai Tho Mountain and visit Long Tien Pagoda, Ha Long’s largest pagoda to date. As if that is not enough, you will also get to learn more about the long and rich history of Ha Long in Quang Ninh Provincial Museum.
You will be picked up from your hotel and start your day with some fresh breakfast at Ha Long seafood market where you will get to try all sorts of fresh and live seafood from the day’s haul. Then, you will visit Bai Tho Mountain where you will get to behold the majestic view from 186 m above the surface. Look around and feast your eyes with the beautiful surrounding panorama as you see the fresh stream, thick clouds and small islands scattered around the Bay area. Then, after your memorable view, you will come back down and head to Long Tien Pagoda, a Buddhist temple built in 1941 dedicated to the warriors of the Tran Dynasty and the Holy Mother of Three Palaces. Next will be the Hoi Gan Church which was built at the beginning of the 20th century. This one will be located on a hilltop, giving it a front-row seat of a bird’s eye view of Ha Long. Another fun fact is that the church was actually destroyed back in 1972 during the Vietnam War but had since been rebuilt and expanded to become Quang Ninh’s largest church. After a tiring day, lunch will finally be served.
After lunch, you will visit the Quang Ninh Provincial Museum (closed during weekends) and learn more about the history and culture of Ha Long, Ly and Tran Dynasties.
