Watch the sunrise at Kelimutu’s crater lakes, see Komodo dragons at Rinca and Komodo Island, snorkel at the picturesque Pink Beach and amongst gentle Manta rays at Manta Point!
Day 1 – Denpasar / Ende / Moni
Meet your tour guide in Ende once you arrive. Your guide will then drive you directly to Moni where, along the way, you will get to see the amazing Detusoko terraced rice paddy fields, stairs of green stacked against the slopes of hills. Once you arrive in Moni, check in to your accommodation.
Day 2 – Moni / Kelimutu Lakes / Bajawa
Wake up bright and early to head to Kelimutu so you can witness the sunrise over the tricoloured crater lakes. The lakes can range from blue to green and red. Next, experience the ethnic environment of the Lio people by paying visits to either Saga or Wologai village where you can observe the daily lives of locals. Enjoy your lunch at Ende and continue on your journey to Bajawa. Stop by Penggajawa Blue Stone Beach where local women pick the best of the blue and grey stones to be sold as garden decorations.
Day 3 – Bajawa / Ruteng
Fill yourself with breakfast at the hotel then head to Bena, a megalithic traditional village of the Bajawa tribe. Learn about their culture of ancestral spirits and how they maintain their way of life. Continue on to Ruteng, having your lunch en route. Stop by Inerie volcano for picture-taking, Aimere village to watch the "arak” distillation process and fresh palm juice tapping, and Ranamese Lake to admire the peak of Mount Inerie. Upon your arrival in Ruteng, check in to your hotel and then visit “Liang Bua”, home of the Homo Florensies in the past.
Day 4 – Ruteng / Denge / Wae Rebo
After your breakfast, head for the Denge village, which serves as the starting point for your trek to Wae Rebo. Wae Rebo is the oldest traditional village in the Manggarainesse. The forest that you will see along your trek is considered to have one the richest ecosystems in Indonesia. Upon arriving in Wae Rebo village, you will get to explore their unique conical houses, one of which is the “drum house” where they hold their meetings, rituals and Sunday morning prayers. Enjoying dinner with the locals and spending a night in one of their houses is an experience not to be missed out on.
Day 5 – Wae Rebo / Denge / Labuan Bajo
After your breakfast, trek down to Denge village located at the western tip of Flores. Along the way, stops will be made by Narang where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the rice paddy fields surrounded by lush hills in the background. At Waeremu beach, enjoy a few rounds of swimming before enjoying your lunchbox. After that, continue on to your hotel in Labuan Bajo for check-in and dinner.
Day 6 – Labuan Bajo / Rinca Island / Komodo Island
Get transferred to the pier of Labuan Bajo to visit the island of the Komodo dragons, Rinca island. Once you arrive at the island, you will begin your trek to see the Komodo dragon along with a variety of other wildlife like water buffalo, deer, long-tailed macaques and tropical birds. Return to the boat to be brought to Kalong Island where you can watch as hundreds of flying foxes leave the mangrove forests during sunset. Lunch and dinner will be had onboard, then settle in for the night on the boat, too.
Day 7 – Komodo Island / Pink Beach / Manta Point / Labuan Bajo
Set sail for the Ranger station at Komodo Island, Lohliang, after your breakfast. Once there, start your trek through the lush growth in search of Komodo dragons and other wildlife. After your trek, head for the boat to be brought to Pink Beach where you can relax on the pink shore, swim or snorkel in the crystalline waters where you will find plenty of coral and fish. Continue sailing to Manta Point where you can opt to snorkel amongst the large and friendly Manta rays. Have your lunch onboard and then return to Labuan Bajo.
Day 8 – Labuan Bajo / Denpasar
After your breakfast, head out to the city for some sightseeing. Stop by Batu Cermin (Mirror Stone) Cave, a limestone cave that boasts reflective inner walls. Its walls are smooth and are capable of reflecting light just like mirrors. Move on towards a local market next where you can look through the fresh produce and variety of handicrafts being sold by the locals. Later, head to the airport to catch your return flight to Denpasar.
