Trek to Y Linh Ho and Cat Cat village to discover the local traditional activities and beautiful landscapes!
The transportation will take you out the town of Sapa to the starting point of the trip. From there, you will head to Y Linh Ho village. In its early days, the Y Linh Ho was first occupied by the Red Dao and was originally named Ly Linh Ho. However, as time passed, the Red Dao moved to another region and the ethnic group of Black Hmong settled in and changed the name of the village to “Y Linh Ho”. There are two parts of the village: Y Linh Ho 1 and Y Linh Ho 2. The two parts are connected by a suspension bridge. Tour the village and come across the lush rice terrace as well as the extending green corn fields as most villagers live on farming. Notice the handmade beautiful and meticulous brocade standing out on the dark background of the women’s costumes, a unique feature of the Sapa ethnic groups.
Then stop at Muong Hoa stream for a rest with some fruits and light snacks. While recharging your energy, enjoy the surrounding views of Muong Hoa valley. The unending rice terrace which will warmly light up the whole pear-shaped valley during autumn, the tall dense forest surrounding the entire valley, and the swift gentle stream beside you are truly a good change of pace from the everyday busy lives.. Continue on you will walk towards Cat Cat village, another must-see village in Sapa lying at the foot of Hoang Lien Son mountain and Cat Cat (or Tien Sa) waterfall.
Over 100 years of age and mostly occupied by the Hmong, Cat Cat still holds its traditions in its daily life. For instance, their houses are called “Trinh Tuong house” with simple furniture and 3 entrances to the house. Making silver jewellery another occupation the Hmong are well-known for besides weaving colourful pieces of cloth. Take your time and walk around the village, observing, and learning about the place’s cultural traits. Don’t forget to immerse yourself in the nature of Cat Cat, as there is a lot to see, and even to take pictures of. Walk up the paved steps to exit Cat Cat and the car is ready to take you back, wrapping up the wonderful trek.
