Tour Description:

Get excited about a full day excursion to one of Johor’s wonderful hidden gems, Desaru. Desaru is a secluded stretch of beach away from the hustle and bustle of Johor Bahru's city life. Desaru holds great adventures not just for those who are beach lovers but anyone despite your age! Kickstart your adventure with a visit to the Peninsular Malaysia’s largest crocodile farm that was established in 1979. Over 1000 crocodiles are comfortably accommodated on the farm and are of the Crocodylus Porosus saltwater species, including the toothless crocodile who is a 130 years old! This aged reptile is spending most of its days bathing in the sun’s rays instead of giving the visitors a scare. The crocodiles here vary in all ages and size so don’t hesitate when the crocodile keepers give you the opportunity to touch or cradle the baby crocodiles in your hand, under their supervision. These majestic reptiles are bred on the farm itself through natural copulation.

The crocodile farm is not only fun but also an educational experience for everyone to learn some interesting facts about crocodiles. Take a stroll along the big lake and make sure you take the advantage of the photo opportunities for some great shots with the crocodiles. However, make sure to mind your step as you are not allowed to set foot in the lake for your own safety. Witness the crocodile keepers and their speedy skills and dangerous actions at feeding time. The farm’s main export is the crocodile’s meat and skin which are even used to make leather goods. Before we depart to our next stop, take a look at the souvenir shop for some memorabilia.

We will then proceed to the Old Johor Fort, also known as the best defence built along the Johor River in the past. Here, you will discover further the history of the Sultanate of Johor. From here, we will head towards a Tropical Fruit Farm that has attracted tourists from all over the world whilst promoting nature and conservation through education. There are various tropical fruits on the fruit farm such as passion fruit, watermelon, soursop, guava, honey orange, jackfruit and durian, the king of fruits. You will learn how to pick the best fruits, sustainability efforts and the best agricultural practice from the experts to ensure high-quality fruits. If you want to find out further about bio-farming, there is even an agricultural gallery for your to explore the agricultural industry.

All within the same area, stop by the herbal and vegetable garden boasting a variety of herbs that can be used from medicine to cooking, such as stevia, lemongrass, basil, peppermint and Roselle. Just a few steps away, you will come upon the beautiful fish pond full of delightful koi fishes. Take a short break and relax on the benches around while you bask in the beautiful scenery. If you would like to feed the fishes, you can do so but with the food that is provided by the guides. After sitting on the talk about Educational Beekeeping Management, indulge in the succulent local raw honey before making your way to the petting zoo where you are able to interact with adorable animals such as rabbits, goats and pygmy chickens. Before departing to our next location, enjoy a fulfilling lunch and you can purchase local produce and fruits at the mini-mart.

Our adventure continues at the Fishermen Museum, located next to the Desaru Coast. You will discover the different ancient techniques used by fishermen in the past, local seafaring superstitions as well as a closer look at artefacts of fishing equipment. From there, we will hop on our boat and relax after a long day as you gawk at the spectacular sight of the enchanting fireflies dancing in the night sky. After watching the stunning light show of nature, we will end your adventure with delicious Malay style cuisine for dinner by the jetty.
