Embark on an exciting tour to Jong’s Crocodile Farm and stare into the nerve-racking maw of the world’s largest reptile—the crocodile!
Not far from Kuching town lies Malaysia’s only crocodile museum; it is also the largest captive crocodile breeding farm in Malaysia. Set amidst the picturesque backdrop of tall tropical trees, lush vegetation, and fruit trees, this farm provides sanctuary for over a thousand crocodiles bred in captivity, saving the species from extinction. Apart from the crocodiles, there are also numerous rare species of birds and animals around the compound, ranging from monkeys, leopard-cats, sun bears to even fruit bats, peacocks and hornbills.
Feeding time is one of the most popular attractions in this farm, as visitors get to see these powerful reptiles in action. When the feeding bell is rung, dozens of these reptiles will leap as high as three metres out of the water to snag pieces of meat suspended from a rope above their pond. After marvelling at the strength and agility of these monstrous reptiles, visitors can learn more about them at their signature crocodile museum as well as learn about the breeding programme and their conservation efforts for these modern dinosaurs.
