Our adventure begins with a visit to the enchanting Rose Garden located at Kea Farm. Entering the Carp-shape entrance of the Rose Centre, get ready to explore the vibrant, scenic rose garden that is spread across a 10-level terrace. Feast your eyes at the splendour of the roses blooming in over 100 fascinating varieties and in every imaginable colour.

As you explore among the magical sights of the beautiful roses, take an exhilarating journey and discover the various colourful stone sculptures and colourful murals that blend effortlessly with the landscape. Further past the lush blooming gardens, there is also a pathway that leads to the peak, rewarding with gorgeous landscapes and vegetable farms. Before you leave this amazing attraction, you can also purchase baby plants, cacti and gardening materials that are sold near the entrance.

Next up on our adventure is the popular BOH Tea Plantation in Sungei Palas, Southeast Asia’s largest tea plantation. Admire nature’s breathtaking beauty as our guide leads you to the prime spot for your best viewing experience of the 8000-acre tea plantation. As you are enjoying the scenic view, your guide will enlighten you about the tea leaves that you are looking down at.

Explore the factory at the tea plantation where the tea making process is explained and demonstrated such as sorting and drying the tea leaves. You can read about the history, how the tea plantation was founded by J.A. Russel, a British businessman in 1929 and stages of tea processing. Grasp this opportunity to purchase the lovely tea products and souvenirs at the shop to enjoy when you’re back home, especially if you are a tea lover! Don’t forget to head towards BOH Tea Cafe where this restaurant-cum-viewing deck offers a tranquil and refreshing ambience as you enjoy a cup of warm tea and the mesmerising panoramic view. Immerse yourself in this captivating experience as you wait for your scrumptious strawberry tart and buttery scones.

We will continue our journey towards the Honey Bee Farm. Beekeepers here are very well-trained and knowledgeable about beekeeping and honey; so if you have any questions, they will be more than pleased to pass on the information. You may even learn about the process of honey manufacturing from the bee house. Even though the bees are freely roaming about and carry a venomous sting, it is safe to explore the farm as the bees are usually under strict control and will not sting if they are not agitated.

Enjoy your stroll around the bee garden, filled with colourful flowers for the bees to collect pollen and produce honey. Pure honey, royal jelly and pollen are products of the farm and can be bought from the shops there. Our journey continues towards the Market Square, a vegetable and fruit market offering a variety of affordable fresh produce. Here, you can purchase many famous items in Cameron Highlands such as strawberries, cheap and fresh vegetables, sweet potatoes, bundles of pretty blooming flowers and even Cameron apples that are an exclusive hybrid only available in Cameron Highlands.

Next stop, we will be heading towards the Butterfly Farm located near Kea Farm. This zoological garden and live insect gallery offer more than just a diverse range of butterflies but also encompass an interesting collection of beetles, mantids, phasmids of various shapes and sizes. They even have a tortoise pen, reptile exhibit and a scorpion pond! Naturally, its main attraction is the plethora of butterflies that flutter about freely. You can actually get quite close to these stunning creatures and their extraordinarily alluring wings which include the Rajah Brookes among many other species.

Moving on, Big Red Strawberry Farm, also known as Taman Agro Tourism, is a strawberry lover’s paradise. This agricultural centre is located on a steep hill slope overlooking Brinchang town centre and is famous for growing strawberries and organic vegetables. Large scale of hydroponic farming is practised and you can admire the arrays of green coral vegetables and butterhead lettuce among them. There are product shops and vegetable market where you can purchase the goods that have been organically grown in the area.

A popular activity here is strawberry picking. You can pick your own strawberries from the endless rows of juicy strawberry plantations and place them in a basket. Space is properly utilised as rows of parsley are grown underneath the strawberries. When you are done picking your strawberries, you can return them to the staff for packaging and purchasing. After that, you can enjoy some strawberries at their cafe, which offers all types of strawberry treats like milkshakes, ice cream, waffles, pancakes and cakes.

Last on today’s adventure is the magnificent Sam Poh Buddhist Temple, located atop a hill overlooking Brinchang. The fourth largest temple in the country is surrounded by a bright yellow wall and houses a large statue of Lord Buddha along with a variety of brass deities from similar regions. With the smell of incense burning in the background, many have come to offer their prayers, paying homage to those who have passed on. Do remember to remove your shoes before entering the temple halls. Enjoy the peaceful and serene environment as you admire the intricately designed oriental architecture.
