Tour Description:

The floating market concept around Southeast Asia did not just come randomly. It has been around since the 17th to 18th century, when the Mekong Delta. During then, people would come and gather around the delta and row their boats carrying items and goods which they wish to sell to their neighbouring villages. It was then that the concept of a floating market was born, after all it is easier to get people to come to a common locality to shop - which so happens to be the river. Today, you will get to try out this unique shopping experience accompanied by the majestic view of the riverside. 

The day will begin with a two-hour ride from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, you will take a boat cruise to visit Cai Be Floating Market and join in the crowd. The floating market itself will be full of local folks gathering and purchasing agricultural products or simply restocking on their household needs. It usually operates all day but is mostly busy in the morning. Buying and selling items on the boat also makes the whole shopping experience more interesting, especially if you do not have a floating market back at your home country. In addition, you can also see how they conduct businesses on rivers and understand the lifestyle of Southwestern folks while you relax. 

Next, you will stop over at a local house where you will learn how the locals make coconut candy, rice-paper, rice-pop corn and rice wine. Then, you will leave Cai Be for Tan Phong Islet where the maze of shady creeks will greet your sight and where you get to take a rowing-boat in small channel. Along the way, you will also have the chance to spend time, enjoy a rich lining of traditional music and delight your palate with some tropical fruits. Finally, enjoy a traditional lunch at a local home and try out the popular “Elephant Ear Fish” before finally returning to Ho Chi Minh City.

• 48 hours before the departure day: 50% charge of the total tour cost.
• After 48 hours before the departure day or no-show: 100% charge of the total tour cost
• Customers cannot receive any types of compensation in the case of annulations is due to a force majeure
