Discover the amazing outskirts of Bangkok and exhilarating view of the Gulf of Thailand!
Just travel a little South of the city of Bangkok, you will reach the Gulf of Thailand. This tour will take you to the water’s edge of the Gulf of Thailand away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and take a relaxing break. The tour will take you to travel by bike, boat and train where cycling will still be the major part of the journey. You will get to visit less visited parts of Thailand that are populated by local fish farmers and fishermen. Their way of life is different from what you’d expect and the locals will find you interesting too. Along the journey, we will get to spot several unique wildlife such as kingfishers, water monitors and also mudskipper fish.
We will gather at the meeting point near Khao San Rd. Then we will begin our journey after the short briefing and bike fitting. We will first cycle to the local train station to catch our train ride. Along the way, we will cross the majestic Chao Phraya River by ferry and then be cycling through mazy alleyways to the station. After a brief refreshing morning ride, we will reach the local train station and take an hour-long train ride. You can get to see the shift in urban landscapes to the countryside. Upon reaching our destination, we will then collect our bicycles and wander through the busy local market. Friendly locals will always give you a very warm welcome. Then, we will take the ferry to cross the river once again.
Once we are over the river, a momentary cycle will lead us to start our exciting bicycling journey. You will ride along dirt roads, around fish farms and salt pans all the way down to the seashore on the Gulf of Thailand. Mangrove forests will be seen along the way. We will stop frequently to admire the eccentric wildlife throughout the journey. At the seashore, there is a restaurant where we will have a luscious seafood lunch. Lunch will be accompanied by the sound of the waves beating the shore which creates a soothing dining experience.
After filling up our tummies with palatable kinds of seafood, we continue to ride along the Gulf. We will pass through the fishing village and down on the Mangrove Conservation Centre, the Tha Chin port and its temple which has the most beautiful crematorium in all of Thailand. You can get to know more about the daily lives in a fishing village in Thailand. The Tha Chin river is also in-sight along the way. Lastly, we will gradually pedal back to the train station to catch our train ride back to the meeting point in the city of Bangkok.
