Tour the traditional villages in the countryside of Hoi An and enjoy your time at the beautiful untamed Hidden Beach.
Start off your day early by taking a ferry to Cam Kim village. Cam Kim is deemed as the “Portrait of Quang countryside” and the “Quintessence of Vietnamese traditional occupations”. The reason behind its names is for these following reasons. Cam Kim is untouched by the rapid industrialization. It lays next to Thu Bon river, extensive green fields and colourful orchards on the side of the roads, zigzaggy paths leading you to villages where locals are diligently working on the fields or in the garden. Everything about Cam Kim is peaceful. Kim Bong carpentry village is one of the most famous villages that still sticks with its traditional occupation. Watching and learning how the locals do their work is absolutely fascinating. Discover the beauty of the traditional arts that are threatened to be wiped out by modernization. Next, cycle to Cam Thanh village. Cam Thanh is known for once being a fierce battlefield during the war. Nevertheless, it is now one peaceful and colourful village like any other village you can find in Hoi An. Its traditional occupation includes making coconut-made cottages and making fish sauce. The villagers are friendly and lovely. Also, try becoming a “real Asian farmer” by riding on a buffalo. It will definitely become an unforgettable experience!
Then cycle to An Bang beach and enjoy your lunch there. Regain your energy and get ready to cycle to the hidden beach! The two main beaches of Hoi An: Cua Dai to the south, and An Bang to the north. However, in between these two lies another beach, one so well hidden they named it just that – Hidden Beach. Like Hoi An itself, the Hidden Beach is a quiet unspoiled charm. It is far calmer than the other two, and a treasure trove on the shoreline as many beaches are increasingly being swallowed by huge hotels. Then, at Cam Thanh, you become a farmer. Then at An Bang, you should try to become a fisherman. The fisherman there will show you how to catch fish using their very fishnet. In addition, test out your paddling skills in a basket boat - a small unique circular boat made mostly from bamboo. After the experience of trying to get some fish in your net, relax or have a swim at the gorgeous untamed beach before cycling back to your hotel.
