Explore one of Southeast Asia’s most famous tourist attractions - Ba Na Hills!
Ba Na hills have everything any entertainment venue has to offer: breathtaking natural landscapes, pleasant weather, unique architecture, enjoyable games and a variety of delightful cuisines. Ba Na hills were first discovered in 1990 by the French and was built during 1991. It initially was a place for the French to relax and have a rest. However, after a storm destroyed the Ba Na’s ancient castles and hotels, the place was left untouched until Da Nang authorities decided to restore it. Gradually, it became one of South East Asia’s most attractive locations.
There are also many stories behind the name “Ba Na”. Some say the hill once had many banana trees when the French first came here, so they called it “Banane”. Yet, as time passes by, the locals read it as “Ba Na”. Others say “Ba Na” in Katu means “my mountain”. The famous tourist attraction is 25 kilometres from Da Nang. You will take a cable car to the mountain’s peak. The cable car is chosen by CNN as one of the “Ten of the world’s best cable car rides”. Ba Na Hill cable car used to be the longest cable car ride in the world with the route as long as 5 kilometres.
Once reaching the peak, over 90 entertaining games of Fantasy Park awaits you. It was built with the theme of French writer Jules Verne books “20 000 leagues under the sea” and “Journey to the centre of Earth”. The park is perfect for families; nevertheless, you can enjoy the park to the fullest with whoever you wish. Explore a pagoda lying 1500m above sea level, Linh Ung is where “the Earth meets the Sky”. Linh Ung pagoda on Ba Na Hill along with Linh Ung pagoda on Marble Mountain and Linh Ung pagoda on Son Tra form a triangle protecting Da Nang city. Come to the pagoda and pray for yourself, your family and friends. When you leave the pagoda, don’t forget to have a look at the Pinus Kesiya, a pine tree that is listed in the Red book.
Since the property was built by the French, don’t miss the chance to walk and visit the “French village”. The village is the image of an ancient and romantic France, where you can find European-styled town square, church, and hotel. Surround yourself with an old European town in the middle of an Asian country. Before going back, remember Ba Na hill has a lot more to offer such as Linh Phong temple, Le Jardin D’Amour garden or Debay wine cellar with fantastic wine and lunch at a restaurant on Ba Na will wrap up your trip.
