Tour Description:

Day 1 - Naaluang Trek / Nong Khiaw Jungle Trek

Adventure awaits with a short ride to the starting point of your journey and then you will stroll along the beaten paths. Walk amongst the large stretch of rice paddies that are along the trail and then cross through the dense forest with towering trees providing shade against the Sun. Behold the stunning sights of the silhouettes of the mountain peeping through the trees. The exciting trek will be filled with an abundance of colourful rice fields that changes colour depending on the season and gardens that are dotted with vibrant flowers that will lead you through your trek. After a tiring trek along the trails, you will be provided with a delicious lunch and taste the flavours of Laos.

Make a stop at the isolated village that is located within the depths of the dense jungle. The largely preserved Lao-style village consists of the inhabitants that still live the traditional way of life, in terms of living from sustenance. Interact with the friendly locals and learn about the culture and customs of the local village with the help of the guide. Your guide will also provide an insight into the local traditions, the Lao art of weaving in a more lowland Lao-style and may more! Discover the variety of ethnic groups that reside peacefully in the village and learn about their differences in culture and custom. Gaze at the olden-style houses that house the friendly villagers and also the farmland for the villagers to use to bring in resources. Take upon the narrow roads between the houses to discover a local school that is constructed completely out of clay, adobe and mud when it was established in 2011. Your day ends at the homestay that will be your temporary home in the village, where you will rest for the night to prepare for your journey tomorrow.

Day 2 - Jungle Trek / Waterfall / Nam Ou Cruise

Awake from your slumber and feel refreshed after a long night’s worth of the sleep. Before your journey begins, indulge in delicious breakfast that will provide energy for your thrilling trek around the remote town of Nong Khiaw. Begin your journey by trudging along the path that will take you to the Nam Ou river. The Nam Ou river is a vital river to the people of Laos as it is stable enough to allow the large boats carrying goods to the other side of the river. The Nam Ou river is also one of the major tributaries to the infamous Mekong river. Bask in the extraordinary sights of nature in its original form as it is completely untouched by men. Ride pass towering canyon pass the canyon that is safely nestled in between the towering limestone karats.

You will be heading to the Tad Mok waterfall by boarding a boat that will take you on a safe ride to the waterfall, that is a stone's throw away from the Nam Ou river. The Tad Mok waterfall is a stunning seven-tiered waterfall that flows nonchalantly to the pool at the base. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the cold pool that will, without a doubt soothe your nerves and muscles, after the tiring trek along the trail. Venture to the Khmu village that is surrounded by gorgeous sights of nature as the village is situated near the banks of the Nam Ou river. Learn about the culture and customs of the villagers residing in the serene village by observing the villagers hard at work and also interacting with the villagers. Revel in the striking garden that is maintained by the villagers and discover the beautiful flowers that are dotted all around within the garden. Taste the scrumptious food that will be served to you in Lao-style within the glory of nature. Your day reaches an end as you aboard the boat that will take you to Nong Khiaw as you bid your final goodbyes to the friendly villagers for their hospitality.

• On the first day, the total distance of the trek is 8.5 kilometres and it is medium-level, which takes about 6 hours to complete. On the second day, the total distance of the trek is 5.5 hours and it is medium-level, which takes about 5.5 hours to complete
• The time taken may vary depending on the trail condition as it becomes more challenging when wet
• It is advised to bring along trekking shoes, sandals, towels and sun protection
