All the strawberries grown in each of the strawberry farms is naturally cultivated with the care and environment in Cameron Highlands. They are as fresh as any organic strawberry could ever hope to be! And the best thing is, you get to pick them up yourself. Experience a fruitful (pun intended) afternoon with your family and loved ones as you sweat and pluck strawberries together under the sun. After weighing the harvest, enjoy the fruit of your labour with some strawberry dessert and refreshing drinks. The café at the farms offer different and exquisite small bites ranging from cakes to sundae and melted chocolate with strawberry. You will then see just how versatile a strawberry can be as an addition to your favourite food. All five of the above offer a chance to pluck strawberries on your own so be sure not to miss out the opportunity!
If you are wondering if there is an offseason where the strawberries are not up for plucking, worry not. The strawberries are grown inside greenhouses using the hydroponic system and bloom all year round. This also makes for a completely sheltered farm which will protect you from the heat and the rain. Aside from the fresh produce, enjoy the variety of products centred around the strawberry flavour such as strawberry ice cream, jam and fruit salad. Do not forget to buy some for your own consumption at home and souvenirs as well! Of course, if you prefer the packed and ready produce, there are also packed fresh strawberries for sale. The fruits are washed, organic and just as delicious as the ones you will be plucking.
Big Red Strawberry Farm also has a potted plants centre in addition to its farm where you can buy plants to bring home and grow on your own. For you green thumbs out there, remember to add this to your shopping list before going home. Aside from strawberry, there is also lettuce being sold and grown organically – a perfect chance to stock up on vegetable too. Before you leave, be sure to take a look at the range of other souvenirs offered in the farm shops. Whether it is a fruit jam, strawberry cookie or syrup, you will find a whole range of unique and delicious food for you to bring home and give away at an affordable price.
Another uniqueness of the strawberry farm is also characterised by Healthy Strawberry Farm. Aside from strawberry, cacti and flowers are also grown in the greenhouse. The farm also allows you to purchase the cactus and grow it on your own. The desert savanna never feels so close before! Of course, if you would like to know the proper way to care for the cactus, feel free to consult and ask the staff working at the farm and they will be more than happy to walk you through the care process. If you are travelling with your spouse, express your love by selecting and giving from a whole range of flowers from lavender to rose. The farm is there to help you make your journey all the more memorable and romantic.
